Thanks Julie a lovely write up šŸ‘
I had the dog to walk before watching 2 games of rugby . Well done England for reaching the semi finals but think thatā€™s as far as we will get as South Africa will be a tough team to beat .

Yes shame we lost the football . John I can report not a drop of alcohol past my lips too early in the day for me .
Sounds like you had a good ride . I think Julie is trying to show off this week or trying to make up some miles for all those sheā€™s missed while on holiday šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
I know the answer to the quiz Iā€™ve sent you a postcard Julie.

Julie was moaning on our little detour as she had 2 extra miles on me so she had her 50 anyway but as Ken was picking her up from mine she had to follow as she didnā€™t know the way !!
Julie not one of better photos with knife all my wrinkles think the money Iā€™m spending on my Elemis face creams obviously arenā€™t working šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Iā€™ve been told off by John we went to Upton Severn not Seven . Just John and me at TB . ( Gordon hope youā€™re okay as we havenā€™t seen you since last Sunday )
Off we set going out via Hanbury nice for a change we were soon joined by the Philpottā€™s and Steve so we had the famous 5 . We went out via Pinvin and then Alan took us a different way . We went down roads that neither John and I had been down before , so it was a lovely change . Canā€™t remember the name of the common / places we went through but hopefully Alan will update you .
Iā€™d 40 miles by the time we got the cafe which was very busy luckily we managed to find the last free table. Chris and Roger then arrived . Lovely tea but no tea cakes or toast !!! so had to have cake instead.Ā
So Iā€™ve just had a slice of toast when Iā€™ve got in .Ā
    Ā
Off we set for home now the significant seven , into a headwind past Defford . Roger had new wheels which had a very noisy free wheel . He actually managed to free will up a hill !! Show off šŸ¤£šŸ¤£Ā Roger was very nicely dressed and almost fully coordinated in Rapha gear but his gloves didnā€™t match ( Julie would never have done that šŸ˜)
It was the longest ride for me this year just over 74 miles but I must admit the last few miles were a struggle luckily I managed to persuade Chris and Roger to carry on the last 3 miles for me without me so I could go steady as I watched them disappear into the horizon but I could still see Rogers gloves didnā€™t match šŸ¤Ŗ
Sorry to hear youā€™re still not right Mick take care šŸ„°
    A few photos .Ā

Very witty Julie . I too was glad to get home but did cycle to TB n back unfortunately.
Hilliers have some lovely new red and green tea pots but obviously didnā€™t buy enough as they kept coming round to see if we had finished with them . It would be nice too if Spring Ridge nursery invested in some too .Ā

A very disjointed ride today as you will hear. Starting from TB John , Gordon and me . As we were waiting for Leigh who didnā€™t turn up .We were joined by Dave Hughes and weā€™re having a good old chat when suddenly we realised it was well past 10 am .Ā
    Ā
So off we set expecting to see Barry , Steve and the Philpottā€™s around the Priest Bridge area but no sign of them . After passing a closed up Philpottā€™s Towers we assumed theyā€™d gone without us šŸ™. As we turned left on the main road Ā caught sight of them ahead thankfully the Saracenā€™s top is quite bright . Once on North Piddle Lane I impressed John with my sprinting as I went ahead to try and catch them up . Luckily Ā I have a big mouth so I shouted out and Christine heard me and waited for us . Leigh was with them too as he was running late and cut the corner off.Ā
    Ā
We turned right over the bridge at Pershore up the hill as we were nearing the top I was hyper ventilating more than usual and realised I had a rear puncture . My good good mate John changed it for me I was being or trying to be his glamorous assistant šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ At this point Leigh decided to head for home.
Puncture fixed thanks to Johns big thumbs off we set again to find Dave Mitchell just outside Cliveā€™s but he said he wasnā€™t stopping but did come in for 10 minutes . We went inside found a big table ordered cake as they had stopped serving breakfast at 11.30 am . We didnā€™t realise that Alan and Chris were sitting outside hence the picture of the lonely happy couple outside on there own. Ā Then Alan came in saying he was going we were still eating our cake apparently he wanted to get home for the snooker . Chris popped in to say goodbye and we kept her talking for a bit . Alan the little bugger set of without her naughty Alan no tea for him tonight Chris .
That left 5 of us to cycle home . We had had sunshine on the way out but dark clouds on the way home but luckily stayed dry . The roads were very wet around Bromsgrove so weā€™d missed a good shower which is always a good result .
So you can hopefully understand why I initially said a disjointed ride . A few pictures below . Gordon you need to keep your eyes open šŸ¤£

Well done to Julie Cycling all the way home she clocked up the most miles . A shame you and Ivor didnā€™t discuss which way you were both going which meant you were both on your own šŸ™But maybe a good thing Julie as Ivor probably turned that motor up to full power šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£Ā

On opening the curtains this morning it was dry and sunny,Ā so off to the shed to get my bike out and to set off . AsĀ soon as I stepped out of the house it started to drizzle,Ā no problem I thought,Ā it's not heavy . Luckily I had put my waterproof on as within a mile of setting off the heavens opened withĀ very heavy rain I pressed on questioning my sanity . On getting to TB I resembled a drowned rat and surprisingly no one else was there but it had stopped raining.
Set off to meet the Philpotts and Barry was there too. TheyĀ were bone dry no rain theirĀ way,Ā amazing. We pressed on,Ā did a loop round to The Vale Golf Club only to find the cafe had closed 5 minutes prior to our arrival . BackĀ up the drive we saw Ivor at the Raindeer Cafe which we'd missed on the way in but that was closed too !!!!
Bishampton was shut too with the front windows boarded over but we found a lovely new cafe called Philpott Towers excellent service you might even recognise the girls serving.
TheyĀ even provided dry socks and slippers for my wet feet and plastic bags to put over dry socks for the way home. Highly recommend this place they serve baileys too . A lovely stop got warm excellent food and service. The boys did allot of talk about electric bikes as Alan's was in the hall. A few photos below.

That's different to what you said on Thursday but looking forward to The Lenchs .
After watching Simon Yates win the stage the other day I'm in training for a hill finish !!!!! Ā Just need to lose 1.5 stones and speed up considerably on the approach ( as normally see the climb and slow down ) and be a lot quicker on the actual climb too šŸ˜«
See you in the morning x
