Moira

Recommended Posts

As it’s going to be a nice day thought we’d try Clive’s at Upton on Seven we haven’t been there for ages .

We will be going out past the Philpott’s house then via the main road into Pinvin in order to miss some lanes that have been chipped . I know some can’t make Sunday but hopefully some will ( Alan n Chris we need you out )

9.30 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴

Having spoken to Moira and to avoid the large clippings on the main road between Flying Horse Lane and Bradley Green the route out will be now be going via Jinny Ring to pass Hanbury Hall then onto Himbleton where Chris and I will meet the run. A left turn at Shaftlands Cross will pass through Huddington then onto the A422 junction when we will take a right turn and head towards Pinvin.

When I came back from Broadacres on Thursday, the 200yd stretch between Flying Horse Lane and Bradley Green was very rideable, apart from build up in the centre and edges, so should be OK by now.

Stick with Plan A though to avoid any confusion, so will meet you at Himbleton or thereabouts, as per Alan's plan.

I’ve been told off by John we went to Upton Severn not Seven . Just John and me at TB . ( Gordon hope you’re okay as we haven’t seen you since last Sunday )

Off we set going out via Hanbury nice for a change we were soon joined by the Philpott’s and Steve so we had the famous 5 . We went out via Pinvin and then Alan took us a different way . We went down roads that neither John and I had been down before , so it was a lovely change . Can’t remember the name of the common / places we went through but hopefully Alan will update you .

I’d 40 miles by the time we got the cafe which was very busy luckily we managed to find the last free table. Chris and Roger then arrived . Lovely tea but no tea cakes or toast !!! so had to have cake instead.
So I’ve just had a slice of toast when I’ve got in .

Off we set for home now the significant seven , into a headwind past Defford . Roger had new wheels which had a very noisy free wheel . He actually managed to free will up a hill !! Show off 🤣🤣 Roger was very nicely dressed and almost fully coordinated in Rapha gear but his gloves didn’t match ( Julie would never have done that 😝)

It was the longest ride for me this year just over 74 miles but I must admit the last few miles were a struggle luckily I managed to persuade Chris and Roger to carry on the last 3 miles for me without me so I could go steady as I watched them disappear into the horizon but I could still see Rogers gloves didn’t match 🤪

Sorry to hear you’re still not right Mick take care 🥰

A few photos .

I think I got a bit of a suntan today, the weather was perfect for cycling, some might say it was too windy but I think it was okay.

In the car park of the cafe was a vintage Rolls Royce that Roger and I had a look at, I wish I had taken a photo it. Oh well there you go.

It was nice to break the 70 barrier, I can’t remember the last time I rode that far. We must be getting fit. 🤣😛😜🚲

Started out 15 mins earlier today then try to catch up with Moira and Co at the cafe.

Decided to take the straightest route, which meant using the  A38 to Worcester

then after crossing the river head of through Callow End.

With a tail wind we made very good time and reached Clives just as the others

were arranging the seats.

Is Alan having trouble with the pace, as he's picked up the wrong bike leaving home.

This one has no power pack.

The break was short lived Moira's legs gave up as she tackled the railway bridge climb.IMG_0015.thumb.JPG.f4f4ffecb16b1d9ccef340329e71e615.JPG211508370_IMG_0015(2).thumb.JPG.550c087921ac2df0a89d1853256c0358.JPG

Roger and I followed John and Moira on the long route home via Droitwich, this gave us Dayhouse climb to finish the day of.

This gave us almost an 80 mile ride. Haven't been that far for ages.

Great to ride with the group for a change weather ok not to windy could have coped  with more sun

but you can't have everything.
