  1. Happy birthday Hilary, have a nice day, and many happy returns. Ann and John. ๐ŸŽ‚
  2. Moira, I will just say, that is not me on the right side of the photo, but you should know the one 2nd from the left in the brown jumper. ๐Ÿšฒ
  3. Talking about tulips Ivor. What do you think of these ? Spring has sprung, Coronavirus couldnโ€™t stop that. ๐Ÿšฒ
  4. I was tinkering in my garage last week, looking at my old steel racing bike and I thought it would be nice to get it out again. It is a bit heavy but I havenโ€™t got to keep up with anyone at the moment, obviously, so it wouldnโ€™t matter. After having a closer look ๐Ÿ‘€ I was thinking, those sprockets look a bit on the small side. So, on tโ€™internet, I found a company ( Tweets cycles ) that sells 7 speed blocks ( for all you young ones, a block is like a cassette, but with a free wheel built into it ) and they had got one with a 28 tooth bottom sprocket. Ordered the block, and a chain to go with it ( couldnโ€™t believe how cheap a 7 speed chain is, they must be ripping us off for 10 and 11 speed ones ) and some handlebar tape. The parcel came yesterday, so off I went into the garage with it, and set about sorting out the bike. First, I fitted the block and chain, that all worked nicely. Next take off the old handlebar tape, by Jove I said to myself ( or words to that effect ) it didnโ€™t want to come off, bit at a time I had to scrape it off with a penknife, it took about an hour, it had been on for years. Next, I raised the the bars and the brake levers a little to make it more old man friendly. Then put on the new tape. Went out on it today, and it seems to go quite well, went out past Harris Brush and up the hill to Hanbury Woods. By Jove ( again ) that hill is much bigger than it used to be, my new 28 tooth sprocket came in very handy. The rest of the ride was quite uneventful, nice to be out on quieter roads, and nice to be out on old faithful again, especially now that the the position is more comfortable. Me and that bike have done a lot of miles together. Well, keep fit, and hope to see you soon. ๐Ÿšฒ
  5. HappyHappy birthday Dave, and many happy returns. Ann and John. ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿท
  6. Couldnโ€™t believe how quiet it is, I mowed the lawns today and felt that I shouldnโ€™t be making so much noise. Itโ€™s just like Christmas Day. Peace and quiet, I love it. ๐Ÿšฒ
  7. Well, thank you Alan, weโ€™ll have to learn to sing. Anyway back to today. 6 of us out for a shortish none stopper, Moira, Bev, Kev, Roger, Leigh and Me. Not much to report, wind was on the strong side, but the sunshine ๐ŸŒž was beautiful. Anyway, no points were awarded that has finished for the time being. We also decided to stop the Club Runs until the situation improves, and do our own thing. So letโ€™s all try and keep fit, and hope the Coronavirus doesnโ€™t last too long. ๐Ÿšฒ
  8. Well, these are strange days, I presume youโ€™ve all heard what Boris has said. Anyway, no point having a destination, with all the cafes closed. So it will have to be a none stopper. I intend to be a Tardebigge 10 oโ€™clock and will be riding into the wind, so as to be blown back home. Only come out if you are sure you want to, I think it best to stop the points for the time being. So if you do come out, I advise that you bring a full Drinking Bottle, and something to eat. 10 oโ€™clock Tardebigge. ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฝ
  9. Happy birthday Alan, for yesterday, youโ€™ve caught me up already. Hope youโ€™re fit and well now. Many happy returns. Ann and John. ๐Ÿฐ
  10. As you know I am in the vulnerable group of people, in their 70s with an underlying health problem. I donโ€™t however feel that I shouldnโ€™t go out cycling in a SMALL group, I am more concerned about the cafe stop. Having said that, I worry more about going round the supermarket, close to a lot of people that I donโ€™t know. So, weather permitting, I will be organising a club run for this Sunday. Whether or not we stop at a cafe, we can decide on the day, and I want some discussion on what we should do in the future. Iโ€™m sure that things will get worse before they get better, and we will have to cut down shortly. So please put a post on here, and tell us what you think. ๐Ÿšฒ
  11. Looks like it is going to rain all day Sunday, in which case I will not be out. However, if I am wrong I suggest we do a loop round and go to Broad Acres. 10 oโ€™clock, Tardebigge, ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  12. The weather was warmer today, I even got a sweat on for a while. Anyway, four started from Tardebigge, Moira, Gordon, Mick, and Me. Rain came down for a short time, but nothing to worry about. Mick was out in front when Moira had a puncture, and we didnโ€™t see him again. Gordon turned off a little later, had to be back early. So then Moira and I carried on to Bewdley where we met Chris P. Tess, and Roger, in the railway carriage, which is a temporary home for the cafe. This railway carriage is nothing like the one over Stratford way that we have been to in the past, this one is really nice, must have been renovated, and it was warm, so we where reluctant to get back out on the bikes, but eventually we had to. Rode home more or less with the wind, and the sun ๐ŸŒž was shining. ๐Ÿšฒ
  13. The Severn Valley Railway Station at Bewdley, havenโ€™t been there before, fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž. 10 oโ€™clock, Tardebigge. ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ
  14. Happy birthday Moira, and many happy returns. Hope the sun is shining. Ann and John. ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿท๐Ÿท๐Ÿท xx
  15. Well, the weather was better and it was windy. Thought Iโ€™d got away with it, but two miles from home, we went through a hail storm. Oh well, the joys of cycling. Anyway, up at Tardebigge, Leigh had come up to see us, in the car, he is looking well after his health problems, nice to see you Leigh. So then, Bev, Kev, Gordon and me started off towards Pershore, picking up Tony on the way. Nice bit of sunshine ๐ŸŒž but hard work into the wind. Gordon and Tony turned off and did shorter rides. Three of us went to Cafe One, just as the rain was starting, then after one of those big toasted tea cakes, it was back on tโ€™bike. The rain had stopped, the sun was out, and the wind ๐Ÿ’จ was behind us ( most of the way ). So, good ride, letโ€™s hope the weather keeps on improving. ๐Ÿšฒ
  16. Happy birthday Mavis, and many happy returns. Ann and John. ๐ŸŽ‚
  17. Yes the first of March, does that mean itโ€™s Spring! Well the weather does look a little better for Sunday, but still a bit breezy. So letโ€™s see if we can get to Pershore. 10 oโ€™ clock, Tardebigge. ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ
  18. Oh so sad, our thoughts are with you. Ann and John.
  19. Points up to the end of February. Roger Bick. 4 John Shelley. 4 Alan Philpot. 3 Barry Lucas. 3 Chris Pardoe. 3 Phil Carbutt 2 Mick Hazlewood. 2 Kevin Young. 2 Ivor Myttion. 2 Gordon Leworthey. 2 Moira Blackburn. 2 Chris Thompson 2 Chris Philpot. 1
  20. Well, we stuck to the plan, four of us turned up at Tardebigge and went for a short steady ride to Crowle. It is a very nice cafe that we hadnโ€™t been to before, run by the locals, the only problem is that it closes at twelve on a Sunday, but we just made it in time. The wind was very strong today, and that made it quite hard work ( ask Moira ) but it rained luckily only while we were in the cafe. So at least we got a ride in. Moira, Chris T. Chris P. And Me. ๐Ÿšฒ
  21. Iโ€™ve been looking at different weather forecasts and theyโ€™re all different, so reading between the lines, I think the best thing we can do is go out half an hour later and hope for the best. Then I think a shortish ride ( because Iโ€™m not very fit ) would be a good idea. So 10:30 start, just a one off, and a steady ride to Crowle village hall cafe. 10:30 Tardebigge. ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฝ
  22. Happy birthday Yvonne, Ed and Polly. And many happy returns, Ann and John. ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚ XXX
  23. I think, an hour on the turbo. Try again next week.
