  1. Sorry guys not risking it, nearly fell taking rubbish to the bin.
  2. Subject to temperature at 11am i will cycle to Broadacre fishery.to be there for 11.30 or i will post tomorrow at 10.30 ish if not.
  3. Highly recommended. Thanks Chris and Alan for providing an excellent cafe stop at short notice and an informative discussion on electric bike technology and tyre's. Also to Moira for her perseverance, leading in adverse conditions as well as assisting Chris in the Kitchen and photography
  4. Hope to see you on the road between Priest Bridge and Flying Horse lane 10.20 ish.
  5. Great to be out on 2 wheels again and a welcome break from problems associated with moving home. The world is a much better place out on the bike in good company!! even in pain. I came home with a message from Lesley, there's a tin of rice pudding in the fridge. Why haven't i got a Polly? She was even out spending my money. There is only one way to put the financial world to right, simple. Get rid of the cost center!!
  6. Sorry Guys for my absence for the past few weeks, weather, preparing to move and moving to our new abode in Inkberrow Monday. Never again!!! out in a box next time!! Hope to see you in the New Year, when no doubt it will be suffering the pain barrier again, Trying to "1/2 wheel" or even, keep up with " Ivor the eeee engine" Happy Christmas to all. Barry
  7. Ivor and i made a later start, destination the cafe/shop in Bishampton, Mike Mclue came by car and joined us for a drink. Great ride, roads not too bad. Met a Saracen member at the cafe, can't remember his name but much reminiscing. Also saw Ken & Pat out, but we had passed in opposite directions, should have stopped.
  8. Agreed with Ivor 10.30 Tardebigge I will meet at Chesgrove crossroads 10.45
  9. Hopefully see you at the Chessgrove crossroad, I should be there 9.45, if not don't wait.
  10. Yes Tony you are correct, but we agreed on departure from Tardebigge that had we met you en route, Flying horse or Priest bridge, we would have taken a less hilly route. You were missed, sorry you didn't join us.
  11. Good ride with Ivor and Tim, over the hills to Church lench, Atch lench and onward to the farm cafe on the Evesham road. Electronic Ivor waited at the top for Tim and I. Note, the word Steady has been erased from Ivor's vocabulary!! i think we averaged in excess of 16 MPH
  12. Hi Tony. Ivor wont be going over the Lenches even under Turbo boost, try and join us at either Flying horse lane or Priest Bridge, it would be good to see you! and i promise to give you plenty of room!!
  13. Look forward to joining you on my bent bike after my "coming together" with Sam on Thursday. Tim who witnessed the event from behind said Sam made a spectacular flight through the air into a waterlogged ditch. Hope you've recovered Sam, i felt my age the following day. I think it was a case of your brakes were better than mine, or your reaction to a rapid deceleration was quicker. Age manifests itself in many ways!!
  14. Thanks Moira, If it's not raining at 9.10 for me Tardebbige for 9.30 i may venture out and risk being, Billy no mates!!
  15. Leigh, Pete C and me joined John & Co as far as Stourport, The cafe conversation centered on Br___t. Leigh rode home alone, Pete and I rode back together. Another good day in the Sun on the bike.
  16. John, are you going past the Chesgrove crossroad.
  17. Even the seniors group is going to get more demanding in future, but i agree with Terryd, Ivor you have earned it! and we will enjoy your company on the bike for hopefully many more years.
  18. Hi John Can i meet you at the same place as last week, by the small house on the bend just before Hillers. Hopefully no mountains to climb!!?? Barry
  19. Great day out John, but not up that BL---Y hill again, it should carry a health warning or a following Paramedic for cyclists. I died on it, it was a reincarnation of me sat at the cafe and riding home.
  20. I've surfaced from beneath boxes, found a bike, now need to find my legs! I'm happy to meet any seniors at the crossroads before you reach Chessgrove on the left and the cafe by the fishing lake on the right at say 9.45/10am or i will continue riding to the end of flying horse lane, subject to weather. I am coming from Webheath, Redditch my temporary home for up to 6 months. I will relate the saga of my move at the cafe. Can i suggest Hillers or the farm shop cafe on the Evesham Road. Please respond to this post or ring me on 01527 758531 otherwise i will do a none stop solo in that general direction rolling through the crossroad or end of Flying Horse lane between the above times.
  21. Thanks Tony, brilliant, enjoyed reading your post i cant bear the thought of it. Regarding the half wheeling stakes, i don't half wheel, as Dave Mortimer would say i just have a longer bike than others!! Likewise, looking forward to a return with you in the peloton to give me a kicking, it might make me sleep at night. Remember Tony it was you who first introduced me to the Thursday group, when i was making a comeback to cycling after a 40 year break from cycling and racing in the North West, that was 10 years ago. I was riding on my own when you came alongside and suggested that i should come to Tardebigge at 10am on a Thursday. I've enjoyed it ever since and met several good like minded people in the Midlands, all thanks to a brief encounter with you on the bike.
  22. I don't want to see Ivor doing another rain dance. But seriously, completion of my move is imminent, it's all hands to the pump! It may be quite a while before i'm back in the saddle. My upside chain collapsed and we are having to rent a property for 6 months which means putting the contents of a bucket into a pint pot and a lot of hard work with 2 moves instead of 1 . Enjoy your summer cycling. It's long holidays in warmer climates for me whilst in temporary accommodation and then i will training hard to keep up with "others" on electric wheels. Best wishes Barry
  23. Seniors included Chris, Ken, Ivor and me, Destination Twisted Spoon. The Place was packed but a young man found a table because we were Oldies. The usual good food, Chris moderated i think he is enjoying Sunday lunch at Leigh's too much ! Got as far as Droitwich on the return and the rain started in earnest, to say the least b- - -dy soaked .Chris was the wise one, he went east from the cafe and retraced his tracks, he will no doubt say, what rain, in future we ignore Ivor he can't read clouds, particularly black ones moving West to East slowly ! The roads in Barnt Green were dry! and five minutes after i arrived home the Sun came out and dried all my clothes, including base layers, i think that's what is known as s- - -s law, but good company and ride. The unofficial Seniors press officer 😳 getting good John even an Emoji, worth 2 points?
  24. Bishampton was the cafe stop for Ivor, Ken and myself, we had just settled down to eat our Jumbo toasted hot cross buns, bread pudding for Ken, when two young ladies ( relatively) joined us, they had jumped ship, said they prefered the company and speed of older men, i reminded them that i was their carer and didn't want them to get too exited. Anyway Moira and Bev made welcome company and joined us for the return. The speed couldn't have been very high as they talked together all the way home. One mile to go for me and the heavens opened and that's how our ride ended, another good day in the saddle, improved by the presence of the ladies. Points for them also please John, even though they left your group in search of experienced men !!.
