  1. Well 3 of us set of from TB me Julie and John we were soon joined by Steve and Barry thank goodness as we had a strong headwind to contend with. Once at Bidford we decided to do some through and off along the main road luckily for Julie she got the first hill no moaning at all 😝 think she wasted all her breath on asking why she got the hill while on the front just bad timing !!! Or maybe the rest of us knew what was coming up and rotated around. We got along the main road quite quickly doing this well probably not as fast as Mr P and Roger but we can dream 😴 Landing at the cafe it was really busy. All the tables inside were full and at least a 20 minute wait on tea cakes so we all went for cake instead . I must say there was an impressive selection John and Julie going the biggest ever piece of Victoria sponge ( Johns favourite) ever but think they both regretted wolfing it all down on the way home. I myself went for a more delicate size of chocolate brownie very tasty 😋 Dave M and then the Philpott’s all arrived in there cars and moaned about being outside albeit under cover. It’s was a bit chilly as you will see from the photos. We headed off for home hoping for a tail wind all the way on leaving the cafe Steve set off at warp factor speed immediate dropping Julie who had somehow got tangled in some brambles by the entrance !!! On realising this we did slow down to let her catch on the train. A very pleasant ride home mainly tail wind thank god. I think the cake was too much for John as when there was just the 3 of me Julie and John he slowed right down saying his legs were hurting and Julie beat him up the hills so it was John shouting wait not Julie . Well done Julie never seen you go so fast up a hill. John even went the short way home so he must have been suffering. A few phots below. Mr P and Roger would be nice to hear about your Sunday rides too xx
  2. Steve we will be coming down Swanbrook Lane doing a left then first right onto the main road (A422 I think) a right then a left and a right onto Bouts Lane and up to the Ridgeway and down Arrow Lane so see you at the end of Swanbrook Lane maybe be there for 10.20 as we missed you the other morning best to be early you could ride up Swanbrook towards us we’ll be coming in past the Brook Pub . Hope it all makes sense 🤨
  3. Oh look at John showing off his computer skills 🤪 it must be from all that practice on his new IPhone. No Lenches Julie just a couple of little inclines 🤣
  4. Thought we’d try Ellenden Farm Shop , Ellenden tomorrow we’ve been there on a Thursday previously but some time ago . The Beacon use it regularly on a Sunday so it must be okay . Now that’s confused you Julie you haven’t a clue where it is 🤨 it’s not near Defford either 🤣 Barry and Steve we will going out via Feckenham the way we went out on Thursday . 10 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  5. Well done Chris for getting on the turbo I’d rather stick pins in my eyes !!! And what a gentleman you are Barry 😆 after suffering up those hills this morning very unusual for you as you normally fly up them . Lovely to catch up with Roger too . Hope Polly’s birthday bash went well x
  6. I think will head for Evesham in the morning been a while since we’ve been there and it will be nice for the Philpott’s to have a romantic stroll hand in hand along the river 🥰😝 Now Julie there are a couple of hills to contend with so you better have a double helping of pasta for tea or borrow your Dad's new electric bike 😂 Barry out the normal route Flying Horse Lane ….. 10 am at TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  7. Nice to have a few out today apart Richard who was working ☹️ Starting from TB after I had to help dress Leigh as he’d forgotten to pull his braces over his shoulders and they were hanging down as were his pants glad I didn’t follow him to TB it would have been looking at the black hole of Calcutta 😝 Leigh with pants braces sorted , me , Julie , Bev , Kev , John and Tim we picked Barry up Flying Horse Lane and Tony near to Priest Bridge . No sign of the Phillpots as we past Philpott Manor. Quite windy on the way out hard going in some places but we made it to the cafe to find the Philpott’s sitting amongst the planting already eating tea and toast. Dave M had just arrived too. The Philpott’s had been for a walk luckily for Chris she no longer has to use a stop watch for the timed walk !! Leigh and Tony carried on home . Kev and Bev stopped to say quick hello then carried on home as Bev wanted Kev to do some painting ( Kev says she’s a slave driver 😂🤪 I’m joking Bev ) It was lovely and warm sitting in the polly tunnel surrounded by lovely plants. The service was actually a lot better this time. A nicer ride home as it was mainly a tail wind 💨 thank goodness. Lovely to be out on such a nice sunny day but a shame the wind was so strong at times . A few photos .
  8. Can’t believe it February is nearly over and I haven’t done one Sunday club run yet in February this year but that will all change tomorrow as the weather at last is looking good 🤞🏻 I thought we’d head to Springridge Crowle (I know the service is a bit slow but we can sit in the the poly tunnel pretending to be winter pansies and keep warm while Philpott assumes us with his banter ) Barry we will be going via Priest Bridge then past Philpott’s Manor 😝 North Piddle Lane Bishampton ……….. 10 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  9. Looks like my rain dance worked no cycling on a Sunday yet again but plan to go to BA for breakfast at 11.30 need to walk the dog to clear my head .
  10. Yes it’s 1.13 am and I’ve been lead astray had too much to drink so have just been doing a rain dance please rain in the morning 🤞🏻 if it is raining happy to meet at BA 11.30 ish will update in the morning 😜
  11. Sorry late post been a busy day for me.Unfortunately the weather doesn’t look great again in the morning but let’s wit and see 🤞🏻 Boring I know Broadacres will be the venue as if it’s wet and windy it’s as close or as far as we want to make it . 10 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  12. Just in from walking the dog it wasn’t raining when I set off almost felt hopeful we’d get out on the bikes but that some changed the rain came and one soaking a day is enough for me. So like John I’m not going out Yoga for me .Have a good day despite the rain 🌧
  13. l’m back from holiday after a lovely week in the sunshine 🌞 I must say I felt cold this morning walking the dog . The forecast isn’t looking too good for the morning a lot of rain ☔️ but you never know it may suddenly improve over night ever the optimist ( but saying that I’ve booked into yoga at 1015 am) but cycling will be my first choice. I’m just going to say Broadacres as think it will be a wet one . Either John or I will post by 9 am if we’re not going out unless it’s really obvious ie pouring down. Barry out via Feckenham if we make it . So 10 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴 🤞🏻
  14. Funnily enough John my right knee has been hurting too had a hard day in the sun today 23 degrees lovely . We watched the rugby what a game but England were robbed according to my husband the referee was in favour of Scotland !! If you get out enjoy I’m having a day on the beech tomorrow reading my book borrowed from John ( it’s a good book John) then a boat trip on Monday . It’s nice wearing shorts and a strapping top hope it’s not too cold at home ha ha 😝see you next Sunday 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  15. Good news we actually made it to Clive’s no rain no frost even had some sunshine ☀️ Starting from TB Me obviously, John , Julie , Leigh , Tim , Kev n Bev ( yes they’re back from France 🇫🇷) we picked Barry up as normal . I think all the french air and skiing has done Kev some good as he was flying if he’s out next week we’ll have to put a couple of bricks in his pockets. Buy saying that Kev ,Bev and Tim turned right for home at Radford . The 5 of us continued on to Clive’s . As we turned into Clive’s Leigh and Barry had a very near collision I don’t quite know how Barry managed to stay on his bike it must be down to his excellent bike handling skills as Leigh pulled right across the front of him later saying he thought the drive way was to the left hence the sudden turn nearly into Barry . On arrival Dave M was sitting outside in the sunshine we joined him and I have to say it was very pleasant sitting in the sun sipping tea and eating tea cakes apart from Barry who in an attempt to get back to his racing weight is cutting out his mid morning snack 😜 Leigh headed off first we then headed for home via Pershore Dave going the opposite way via Fladbury but we came that way . Our paths crossed again on the main road in Flyford in opposite directions luckily for us we had Barry on the front dragging us along as he does need to burn those calories. As I was nearly home on Claypit Lane I saw a Saracen top coming towards me it was Ivor sneaking out again 😝 . 8D3A7EDE-885B-49FD-9026-BDFDFF972113.MOV Sorry about the video blame Mr Shelley camera operating skills he’s better at navigation 😆🥰
  16. Hi sorry for the late post but I have been busy as Julie knows a woman’s work is never done 😝 I’m risk going to Clive’s at Cropthorne as you know when I post that as the destination it normally rains so fingers crossed . Yes Barry out via Priest Bridge 😜 We’ll have to behave ourselves this week as the true Boss Mr Shelley is out as Anne is unfortunately back into hospital tonight for an operation on her right knee in the morning we wish her well. 10 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  17. Oh dear poor Roger lucky you had cable ties . We sat inside the cafe so it was nice and warm Julie even took 2 layers off !!!
  18. Right an early post as I’m out all day tomorrow the weather for Sunday looks cold but you never know until you open the curtains. I’m keeping it simple so if we do get out and it’s cold a shorter route can be done so Broadacres it is . 10 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴 I’ll post by 9.10 am if I’m not going out. A quick update on Anne Shelley they were called back to the hospital on Monday and she does have a fracture in her left ankle and a depression fracture on her right knee. Her right leg is now out straight in plaster !!! I called round this morning and she was in good spirits and wouldn’t let me write on her plaster 😠
  19. First off there was no John this morning as whilst shopping last night at Asda John and Ann were walking out with there trolly when Ann suddenly fell to the floor in great pain which resulted in her going to A n E luckily nothing was broken but she has a bad sprain in one ankle and the opposite knee is very sore . She’s home now after John collected her at midnight . I’m sure you’re all with me in wishing her a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹 So at TB this morning was only Julie and me we were a bit worried as we had no man in case we got a puncture (as you men do have some uses 😝 Luckily we were soon joined by Barry so the problem was solved . At one point when we were in the sun it was quiet pleasant but then we went into the shade and the wind and we cooled down. We did go to Bidford I’d initially told Julie we’d cut shorter but as she never has a clue where we are she didn’t realise that we’d gone the longer way. On arrival at the cafe Leigh was already there tucking into tea and tea cakes after arriving at bit late at TB and coming a shorter way . He soon left and Chris P arrived and sat on his warm chair. I must say the tea cakes were lovely and the service has improved too. Quote of the day from Barry ‘ I didn’t realise Tess was from South Africa 🇿🇦 I know he is hard of hearing in the one ear maybe that’s it !! 😜 The four of us set of for home it was still cold so Barry cut it shorter . Julie perked up nearer to TB as she’d parked her van there so Chris and I continued on and soon saw another Saracen top approaching us in the opposite direction. It was Ivor who obviously been sensible and had waited for it to warm up a bit before venturing out. A nice ride despite the cold good company but I did miss my mate John 🥰
  20. Don’t know the lanes to Bedford so best stick to Bidford 🤪
  21. The forecast looks promising for the morning so fingers crossed we get out on the bikes. The venue will be Hillers Cafe I think everyone knows where that is . Barry we will be coming out via Feckenham up that steep little hill to the staggered cross roads then in via Bedford . 10 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  22. We’ll done Richard have a safe ride . John I’m going to say it I told you the roads were icy glad you saw sense and turned back for home . See you at BA. I’ve just done a good yoga 🧘‍♀️ session so won’t feel guilty about eating a BLT 🥪
  23. At last I’m feeling a lot better so hoping to get out tomorrow but will make the final decision in the morning as the temperatures at the moment for the morning say feels like 1 / 2 degrees so need to see what the roads look like when I walk Oscar . Either way the venue will be Broad Aces aiming to get there 1130 - 1145 am so we can meet the Philpott’s who will be coming in the car . Either John or I will post in the morning if we’re not going out so please check the website before leaving home . If we don’t go out we’ll still drive there to meet the Philpott’s . 10 am TB 🤞🏻🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  24. Happy New Year 🎉 to you all and thank you for all the well wishes hoping to be back out the end of next week just can’t seem to get rid of my cold. You’ve had a lovely day for a ride the sun was out I felt quite jealous not being out with you but I’m sure the real Boss is doing a Stirling job maybe he should have it back full time 😜
  25. I made it out after wimping off the last couple of weeks . Starting from TB Me obviously Bev , Mick , Leigh and Richard we picked Barry up en route . A nice warm day all going well until I had a rear puncture again as had one on Thursday too .Oh no John not out so luckily Deputy Mick took pity on me and did the lion share of putting new inner tube in. While this was happening Dave M joined us . We then set off again and decided to cut it short due to my puncture delaying things but really as we all had a bit of Alan Philpott’s disease CBA . So we turned left at the end of North Piddle Lane and went the quick way to the cafe. Just as we got there the Philpott’s arrived having walked there very impressive Alan deciding it was better to walk than got the bikes dirty !!! Initially it was full in the green house area so we had to sit outside but then a table came free so we made a run for it and managed to squeeze 13 chairs around the table as Ivor , John and Ann arrived in there cars then Roger not Rodger 😝 and Tess came without the Birthday Boy Mr P who apparently has a cold . On his birthday too what a shame. We had a little cake with candle for you and a card too as the photos below show. Hopefully Tess will deliver your card to you. Unfortunately Julie couldn’t make it as she has a cold too . Couldn’t resist the last Photo of John in his hat 🤪 What a motley bunch we are. A nice day and a nice ride .
