  1. Yes I agree Julie you have redeemed yourself excellent navigation home☑️ Nice to go in a different direction for a change and lovely to see Chris , Roger and Tess too. I decided to ride home over Rose Hill as I used to ride that way home when I worked at Acocks Green a good few years ago now . Foolishly John and Gordon came with me 🤣 .I’d forgotten how bad it was but loved the downhill the other side .
  2. John I thought we could go to Lavender Hall Fishier as we haven’t been there for ages and the cafe is excellent . As it’s been that long since we’ve been can’t remember which way we go out so hopefully John will post that for me ( pretty please John who is really in charge 😝) 9.30 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴 and I’m sure Julie will says her famous words “ I know the way home “ it’s wether we decide to risk another mystery ride home 😝😂😂
  3. Morning having looked at the temperatures for the morning think it’s going to be too hot for me to venture out unless I go out at silly o’clock. So if someone else wants to post a ride please go ahead and do so x
  4. Sounds like you had a great day out and lovely pictures too x
  5. I was surprised to see many at TB on my and Bev’s arrival . Waiting for us and raring to go were John , Micky D , Tim , Gordon , Leigh , Kevin Young and Julie. Surprisingly we didn’t pick anyone en route. Barry just checking you’re okay as nobody had heard from you and we were expecting you out. A pleasant ride out in the sunshine accompanied with a tail wind who could ask for anything better . John was navigating but when Kev Y and Bev got on the front they went a different way to Johns planned route putting a couple of extra miles on . At last we arrived at the bottom of the hill . Kevin’s new name is Gough as he was off. John was on the front for the rest of us I now know his tactics he goes quicker on the slow build up to the main climb ( think he got his tactics from Team Sky of old ) but Bev did got past him only to be overtaken by John further on . I was watching all this from behind . We re-grouped at the top then set off into a busy Chipping Campden where we caused chaos as I missed the turning for the cafe so we all had to do a U turn and a very nice female driver waited for us to do this. We we’re all looking forward to Teacakes or toast only to find there was only cakes a choice of 4 all of them bar one being vegan . I must so some of his had a lovely blueberry muffin cake which looked nothing like a muffin but tasted delicious . Sorry to rub it in Mick you need to be quicker into the cafe next time 🤣 We sat outside in the shade hearing all about Bev and Kev’s building project at home a new patio . I forgot to take any photos. I have been reprimanded by John for failing in my duties. Rode home via Honeybourne then the usual way it did get a bit hot 🥵 towards the end . The head wind was quite pleasant kept us cool . I must say John is back on form nice to see him racing up those hills again . He got the King of the Hills jersey today 🥇 Think we were all glad to get home and into the shade . A very nice ride good company and lovely sunshine 🌞
  6. John’s choice this week so we’re off to Campden Coffee and Crystals , The Old Silk Mill , Sheep Street , Chipping Campden. It’s pre lock down since we’ve been there so it’s about time we headed out there and the weather looks good. we will be going via Swanbrook Lane , Feckenham and up to the Ridgeway . 9.30 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴

  10. Well what a day !!!! Starting from TB John , Leigh , Bev , Julie and me apparently Micky D had a better offer and two timed us with another cyclist a blonde lady we all thought 😝 At Priest Bridge waiting for us we’re the Philpott’s both on there electric bikes luckily , Barry , Steve and his wife Jenny also on an electric. But Jen isn’t too confident riding in a group and after todays events I don’t blame her . They turned off and were heading to Springridge for a coffee and cake. Luckily the Philpott’s took the front much to mine and Julie’s relief as we had been battling into the head wind. As we were heading to Pinvin on the main road I didn’t realise that we had Tadej Pogacar with us as a certain person went of the road into the gravel at the side of the road luckily he nor anyone else came off. Just to prove his bike handling skills or maybe lack of them he did it again !!! Off to the ford Alan was on the front closely followed by John then me unbeknow to the rest of us they had agreed to cut through a gap in the fence so John would miss his favourite bush unfortunately a car came along and we had to stop suddenly .We were all good except Captain Chaso (aka Pogacar ) was causing havoc behind as he was unable to break and apparently got stuck on the barrier then couldn’t unclip . Luckily no more incidents after that except when arriving at the Marina at 11.30 am we discovered they had stopped serving food at 11 am. I forgot to say that Kevin Young past us about 4 times before joining us luckily he got his phone out and discovered that Clive’s of Upton ( same owner as Clive’s of Cropthorne) was just a mile up the road . So we all headed off there except for Leigh who went to Defford. I must say it was a lovely cafe stop better than the cafe in Cropthorne quicker service and they had big teapots always a bonus. Lots of other cyclists there to . Nothing of incident of note on the way home except just as we were coming out of White Ladies Aston we saw 2 cyclist in front one had a very familiar figure . It was Micky D not with a blonde but with Stuart we rode with then for a bit before they went a different way home . 75 miles for me yes I can to cycle up my road to get the magic 75 in not 74.68 m . A few photos the odd looking one shows Johns photo skills off x
  11. Good morning thought we could venture out to the Marina at Upton on Severn in the morning we’ve not been there for a while . Yes Julie it’s actually close to Defford 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so you might recognise some of the roads . We will be going out via Priest Bridge then past Philpott’s Towers and out via Pinvin and the ford to see if John can make it past without falling into his favourite hedge 😝 TB 9.30 am 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴 As a club we ride The Tommy Godwin charity ride which this year is on Sunday 18 September 2022 entries are done on line. Some of us have entered already we are doing the 100 k ride so please join us to support a good cause. It is always a good day out and a nice change of lanes. Club colours to be worn preferably.
  12. At least your water bottle didn’t cause someone to fall like in the Tour this afternoon. Yes a nice ride but glad to get home and into a cool shower we spent too long chatting at the cafe .
  13. The weather men notice I say men not women as if their forecast is incorrect it could never be a woman !!! As you men know we women are rarely wrong 🤪 As it is meant to be very warm on Sunday I thought I’d post Broadacres as the cafe is close for everyone on the ride home aiming to beat the really hot temperatures.Hoping to be there 11.15 - 11.30 am . We will be going out via Swanbrook Lane to Feckenham then left and the usual route out . 9.30 am TB 🤞🏻🚴‍♀️🌹🚴‍♀️ I will post if it’s too hot 🥵 for me .
  14. Thanks Christine I have managed to air drop my photos . Get me !!! John something for you to get the hang of 😜
  15. What a lovely sunny day it’s been today ideal out on the bike . A big thank you for Steve and Jenny for hosting this morning. Jenny your garden is beautiful 🌸 Ten of us out this morning starting from TB Micky D , Tim , Leigh , John , Bev and me . We picked Barry , Steve and the Philpott’s en route. A nice ride out rotating round nicely nothing really happened on the way out. On arrival at Steve’s , Bev’s Kevin was already there having ridden there on his new motor bike . Most of the boys were excited about it and we even had to watch him ride off before we could leave . The song Leader of the pack came to mind. Steve was Jen’s assistance in the kitchen after putting the tea cakes under the grill he came out for a chat getting distracted luckily Jen caught them before they were totally burnt. I was very happy as that is exactly how I like mine done. They had the biggest ever tea pot I have seen . Jen gave the girls a guided tour around there garden Christine was showing off naming most of the plants 😜 I’m jealous as I can never remember the names. During our tour Chris P and a very brightly clothed Roger arrived to enjoy the refreshments. We had a lovely chat in the garden before heading off into the sun again. Now I did take some photos but apparently have ICloud storage issues so they won’t transfer to my IPad but luckily Chris P took some and I’m sure he’ll post them later. For those going to Defford on Tuesday as it is going to be hot again we are going to go out half an hour earlier so please adjust your times ( meeting Bungay Lane at Timberhonger Lane at 9 am ) Julie I can hear you moaning from here but you have two weeks off in the sun lying in ever morning no doubt so any early start will do you good 😝😂😂
  16. Steve has very kindly invited us round to his house for tea and toast in Dormeston we aim to be there between 11.15 - 11.30 am. We will be going out via Priest Bridge turning right going past Philpott’s Towers and then onto North Piddle Lane. 9.30 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  17. I forgot to say Steve T has very kindly invited us to his house next week in Dormeston for refreshments. So Steve will be posting and organising the route next Sunday . Can you post to let him know if you will be out and attending his pop up cafe so he has a rough ideas on numbers . Steve I can say that John and I will be there 🌹
  18. Well we made it all the way to Wayside Cafe with good navigation from John and Alan. But I’m ahead of myself starting from TB John , Tim , Bev and me . We had a nice surprise in Flying Horse Lane where we were joined by Tony who been busy project managing his new kitchen . Tony stayed with us to Radford then turned off and we picked up the terrible three 😝 the Philpott’s and Barry. Alan was on his normal bike I must say he is going very well . Christine was on her electric bike which we were grateful for that later . On arrival at the cafe we feared the worst as there was a sign saying limited food luckily they were still doing Toast and tea cakes . Barry went for the biggest ever piece of bread pudding I’ve ever seen . So big he couldn’t eat it all !!! We turned right after the cafe and almost immediately had to stop as Alan had a stone caught in his shoe 👠. Being the helpful person I am 🤣 I went to get off my bike to assist but nearly fell over into some flowers in a nice boarder luckily I didn’t end up on my ass . Off we set with very dark clouds in the direction we were going we were hoping to miss the rain but got caught in a 10 minute drizzle around Fladbury but we soon dried off. I think it was everyone’s longest ride today I made 70 miles Bev refused to come the longer way back from TB with me 😫 using shovelling sand as an excuse 😂 Some photos below a nice one of King Alan on his throne awaiting his earl grey tea and toast to be served by his wench ( not sure that’s politically correct anymore !!! ) I
  19. Thought we’d stretch the legs a bit more tomorrow so the venue is Wayside Cafe ( just short of Broadway ) . The last time we were there was pre covid so quite a while. We will be going out via Priest Bridge and Radford. 9.30 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  20. Sorry John got side tracked ironing , walking the dog and making tea . Plus my dog walking friend persuaded me to go to the pub obviously needed to catch up . So thanks for doing the write up for the super 6 and a big thanks to Alan who did more than his fare share on the front in the wind . Sorry we lost you Leigh . A week off and I must say my legs are aching walking like John Wayne . John does love his Victoria Sponge and had a massive slice this morning x A few pictures. Mr P and Roger and possibly Tess where did you get to in the wind today x
  21. Let’s hope the wind isn’t as promised see you in the morning be gentle with me I’ve had a week away 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  22. Sounds like you had a good ride despite Mick’s singing!!!! I had a lazy day sitting in the sun at the side of Lake Garda even went in for a swim . Off on a boat trip tomorrow. Sounds like you didn’t navigate back Julie thought it was third time lucky 😝 see you Sunday x
  23. Clive’s of Cropthorne is the venue tomorrow we haven’t been there for a while . We will be going out via Little Inkberrow into Radford then Rous Lench hopefully that name won’t put people off as we will go right before the big hill towards Fladbury etc . 9.30 am TB 🚴‍♀️🌹🚴
  24. Well good luck just got home a bit worse for wear . A positive it wasn’t raining. Have a good ride and fingers crossed if Julie I navigating 😝😫😍
  25. A nice surprise to see Gordon and Micky D at TB along with John , Leigh , Bev and myself . I think the promise of a short ride brought out all those recovering from an injury . It was more like a cold 🥶 winter day Bev and I unfortunately were dressed for sunshine which was sadly missing this morning. To add insult to the cold we got rained on too luckily it was only a short ride to the cafe. As Gordon turned off for a shorter ride Barry joined us . Johns’s computer said it was 7 degrees no wounder we were cold and wet. On arrival at the cafe we saw Dave Mitchell sitting outside under cover . There was no way I was sitting outside as I was freezing . Luckily we found a couple of tables inside next to each other and a Bruce’s Bonus one was right by a little ceiling fan heater which was on . Bev and I defrosted under the heater . Tea and tea cakes were ordered with some confusion over Bev’s tea cake which didn’t arrive. Lovely tea cakes though . Leigh ate and ran . Dave went home the way we came the rest of us headed out along the Ridgeway for a change into Feckenham . I must admit it did warm up to a barmy 10 degrees I even pulled my arm warmers down. John says his back felt fine so let’s hope that lasts . Micky was demonstrating a back exercise to him at TB on the road sign John was worried he couldn’t get his leg that high !!! ( unfortunately no photo of that )
