How many members owned or still own a Major Nichols?

I bought my silver Major Nichols frame from Chas Mann, Kings Norton in 1971 for £25.00.  It served me well in many a road race and time trial through the seventies.  In the late eighties a respray was due so I went back to Major.  About that time yellow was becoming fashionable as a bike colour.  When I answered ‘no, primrose yellow’ to the question ‘Do you want it sprayed as the original?’ Major had a fit.  There was no way a frame of his was going to be yellow. Anyhow he relented and the bike remains that colour today. It was laid up till about three years ago.  I did not know whether to sell or restore it and sought advice from the Major Nichols club. Terry Harradine (CC Topp) advised me to have it re-sprayed and build it back up.
The re-spray went ahead but my interest in the rebuild dwindled.  I eventually exchanged the frame with Terry for another frame and he has now completely restored it.
