Sean Barker
Are we having a ride on new years day? And if so it being the first Thursday of the month would be Whitlenge Garden centre but they are closed until the 5th of January. We could make for Raphael's (Hampton Ferry) cafe in Evesham, they are open on new years day. The weather looks like warming up considerably by then, 9 or 10 degrees
TonyS
Or Hillers, or Julies.
Sean Barker
Are they both open on New Years day Tony? If they are they could well be better options as those who need to could get back earlier for other commitments.
TonyS
Hillers appears to be, but their website doesn't mention New Year specifically. I mentioned Julies as it was mentioned yesterday - by you, I think, Sean.
Sean Barker
Possibly Tony but I didn't realise Thursday was New Years day at the time. I'll phone them up tomorrow
TonyS
Great - I agree a closer target would be best, it allows not only for an early return but also for any slow legs after the festivities!

MattandEm
Hi, will the B's be going out and past Tadebigge as I will be on my single speed and doubt after a couple of new years eve shandys that I will have any chance of staying with the A's? ta Matt
TonyS
Matt, all Thursday runs meet at 10.00 from Holyoakes Lane, behind the Tardebigge pub. See who's out and take advice which group to join.

Sean Barker
Right I have been doing a little checking and apart from Raphael's in Evesham I can't find anywhere closer that is open. I have tried Julies, Rowberry's, Whitlenge, Hillers and another couple of places I know but they are all closed.
Sean Barker
Just to add to the above the Worcester Country Park cafe is open.

Sean Barker
I'm going to have to miss today, still not completely recovered and with a 200km audax on Saturday I'm probably better resting
AlanW
Well I'll be honest I expected to see a lot more folk out today? Nevertheless, eight of us enjoyed a steady bimble up and over the Lenches and on to the riverside cafe at Evesham.
ChrisKENT
Where were Sean and Chris P. just for starters.I struggled over lumpy but enjoyable terrain in great company who insisted on either waiting for or coming back for me!!Just over 60 miles after only one boozer's run ride in the last month. No alcohol and no falls I am glad to report.A steward's enquiry should be instigated respecting the absence of so numerous esteemed members!!
