ChrisP
After yesterdays disappointing news of a club member not riding solo, I will not do another tour as it may be interpreted the wrong way.
Sarashell
That was bad information I had about Jonny Mullan, just found out he has NOT had Coronavirus. Sorry about that. But happy for John.
Sarashell
Getting fed up stopping at home, so I thought I’d write a poem :- Mowed the lawn, painted the shed, spent a bit more time in bed. With garden dug, and jobs all done, I went to sit out in the sun. The sun was warm and very nice, I even dosed off once or twice. When I awoke, my face all red, just like a beetroot, my good wife said. Back inside and cooling down, reading a book, with a frown. I would like to see my friends again, trouble is, I don’t know when. If this lockdown doesn’t soon end, I think I’ll be going round the bend. 🚲

Lancashire Lad
Excellent John. Don't keep those talents hidden during the next 3 weeks. A Diary of your solo cycling in rhyme would be good to read during the continuing lockdown. Stay Safe
Terryd
May I also say do not go out for a ride. You maybe on a solo ride ,but the impression given is not good and very damaging to Cycling. Also please please stay at home. I unfortunately contacted the virus ,it is the most unpleasant and painfull experience ever. It is not just like severe flu as some people think. I am home now thank god,and today I was allowed (under supervision) to go into the garden,I managed about 50yards and then had to sit down to regain my breathing. This is the problem no one knows if there can be any long term problems. So please stay home forgo the pleasure of a nice solo ride, there is plenty of time for that. Think of all the great rides that you can do when this is all over. terry dunsby
ChrisP
As there is little news at the moment. I have a few pictures can you spot who's who. A) 2 club members. Name them and where was it taken ? B) What year was this and what were they celebrating ? C) There are 3 members in the line up who are they and what are they dressed as ? D) Who could this be ? E) Does anyone know who the 2 members of the Bournville CC. are ? F) What corner are they going round heading for the finish ? G) Who's this young man ? This should pass the time away. Sarashell
Starting at the beginning (A) That is Mick Meacham, on the bike, and running beside him is Chris Pardoe. It looks to me that the photo was taken at the back of Cofton Park. Well that’s enough for today, I’ll have a look at the next one tomorrow. 🚲
Sarashell
Well, B and C next. B is no problem, the year is 1953, ( I was at a similar celebration, about 3 miles from there ) and it was the Queen’s coronation. C. I can see Ivor Myttion , I think he is serposed to be a Unicorn? Then there is Mick Meacham, he looks like he has got a big girly Welsh hat on. And the third one is young Chris Pardoe, in the pointy hat, I don’t know what he is supposed to be. Another one tomorrow. Please join in, you must all know the last one. 🚲
ChrisKENT
I think that (A) is at the top of Hopwood Bank on the Redditch Road.
ChrisP
I think Chris has spotted Hopwood Bank. A little help for John
Sarashell
I give up on what they are dressed up as. And so on to D. that is little Chrissy Pardoe at the very start of his cycling career. 🚲
Sarashell
And so to E. The one looks like a chap who used to run the club runs, his name was Brian Courage. The other one, in the middle of the picture, I think his surname was Queson. F. That must be Robert’s Corner near Alvechurch, just before the finishing straight, towards Hopwood. 🤞 🚲
Sarashell
That young man G, is Chris Pardoe again, this time in a school boy race. I was probably in that same race, it looks like Wellesbourne airfield. Have you noticed the fixed wheel sprocket on the rear hub, the opposite side to the block ! 🚲

ChrisP
Hi all viewers. I'll finally tell what and where the pic's were. A) was me and Mick Meacham on Hopwood Bank. B) 1953 coronation C) i was Peter Pan, Mick Meacham was Andy Pandy Looking at him I think his Mum wanted a girl.and Ivor is a mystery I think he's forgotten what he was. D) yes I started early. E) John was correct about the Bournville riders. F) but the corner was Dagnell End Road which now has lights on the corner just before Redditch Abbey stadium. G) Johns right again a school boy race on Wellesbourne airfield. I will now start a page 3 with more places to identify.
