Older members will remember that Stan and his brother Bernard were formidable Time Trialists in the early 50s, Stan being a British Champion and record holder. I never met Stan but the exploits of him and his brother are well known to those of 'a certain age'. Following article gives useful background although the date of death is given as 31st August. A celebration of his life is taking place on Monday 15th September at 2pm at St Laurence Church in Alvechurch , Worcs B48 7SB. I received a message from Helen ,his wife, on my answer phone, saying he had died last Sunday, I had assumed the 7th. I have since spoken to her. It is a private cremation service tomorrow followed by the church on Monday.
