Echelon 25 - VTTA Midlands 23 August

Recommended Posts

This event incorporates our club 25 Championships and is being held on the K33/25S.   The course involves 2 laps of the Salford Priors to Little Chef section on the A46 followed by one lap of the Salford Priors to Twyford section. The race HQ is at Norton & Lenchwick Village Hall, Byrd Row, Norton, WR11 4TF.

First man off at 14.01 and our team starts with Paul Haynes at 14.04, then Colin Bradley at 14.09, Mike Hazlewood 14.26 and myself at 14.53  Weather looks good and this is an ideal spectators course as the riders pass Salford Priors island four times. So f you feel like a ride out to cheer the team on and join them for tea and cake, come along.

Went the day well? Not exactly! The weather was foul, both cold and windy and on top of that we had very heavy showers.  I stood in a torrent for five minutes waiting to start then punctured six miles down the road.  Today of all days

Colin Bradley did not start as he is still carrying an injury so that just left Mike and Paul to fight it out.  Mike battled the elements to finish with 1:00:55 and Paul  a comeback PB with 1:04:24.

The heroes of the day were the supporters who bravely endured the weather to give the team a cheer.

Roll of honour - Mavis, Judith, Debbie, Edwina, Mandy, Dave Jones, Terry, Colin, and Eddie. Hats off to Mavis and Eddie who helped as marshals.
