Mrs DAVIES
The Beacon site says enter at least two weeks before. However, the AUK site says click here to enter by payapal. Which is correct? Can you enter this late?

Sean Barker
Glad to hear it Ivor. Which one did you ride? I rode it last year and it was a bit of a nightmare, the first cafe (Broadway Tower) were overwhelmed and simply couldn't cope with the numbers, it was a half an hour wait before they could even take your order. I along with many others gave up and cycled to the second stop where a sandwich and a coffee was £8. That also upset a few riders including myself. The 3rd cafe stop was also overwhelmed and I along with others gave up in frustration. Quite a few riders were moaning how poorly organised it was and that there was no consideration given as far as the size of the field. I heard quite a few riders say "Never again would they be riding this" Funnily enough I also heard a number of riders saying how good it was and how they were looking forward to next year. I guess it all came down to where you were in the field when it came to the cafe stops. Although by and large I should imagine their numbers were hit this year because of it.
