Sorry that I had to be a no show today.

As some of you are aware I have been struggling with a particularly troublesome tooth for a couple of years now, well it flared up on Tuesday evening and by Wednesday my face was swollen and I was in agony. So off to the dentist yesterday and an emergency extraction and a nasty infection has left me feeling quite delicate today. So on the dentist's orders no cycling for me until Sunday where I’ll be looking for a Good Samaritan (or two) to escort me around gently.

ChrisP took us on a glorious tour of Worcestershire which had the maps spinning inside my head until I pieced it all together. Quite a fast start - you probably noticed when we came past! - Dave will have to learn to curb his enthusiasm or else Uncle Ken will tell him off again   Finally docked at Wootton Wawen craft centre for tea and scones. Definitely present were KenH, DaveM, TonyS, ChrisK, ChrisP, JohnS, Vince, Dave Hughes, Duff's brother and Tess (of the veldt). There were others at the cafe, Gary didn't stop, Tony Webb and BGB got lost along the way, but I'm sure Dave will be along sometime to list the full register. Tony Slatter was spotted in his garden shortly after we restarted, three of us had a quick word before regaining the bunch. Unfortunately Tess got caught at the Ridgeway traffic lights and although both Ken and I waited a bit further on she didn't appear, so we assume (and hope) that she took the main road option.

Get well soon, Sean. I'm sure the rest will do you good

Great ride this morning, weather fine not much wind about.

As Ivor said plenty of sun seekers out with two good groups.

After a tour of Warwickshire we all enjoyed a welcome stop at Wooten Waven craft centre.

Good food good company.

A steady ride back finished of a great day.

Sorry we got a little split up on Astwood Bank.

Being as I don't know the area around the Pound Cafe ( in case I got dropped and could potentially end up wandering around Warwickshire!! ) Pat Haddon kindly invited me along with her group to Ombersley Golf Course which I gratefully accepted. We steadily journeyed through the lanes, dodging the odd tractor and lorry, enjoying the country-side and chatting, very pleasant.  Unfortunately a couple of miles from Ombersley Pat's chain broke.  But as we dismounted our bikes, scratched our heads and went ooh...arhh.. Bob from the Beacon came to Pat's rescue with his Chain Link Remover!! Ooh...arhh.. again we cried and off we went for coffee and toast!

Whilst in the Golf Club a gentleman came up to me and asked if the Saracen Club was still going as he used to be a member.  His name is Colin Hanson his Uncle was Chas Mann and he used to ride a lot with Mick Mann.  He was very pleased to know the club was still active.

Returned journey in the sunshine, I left the group at Elmbridge and headed off home.  Thanks to Pat H, Oscar, Bob, Mavis and Sheila for welcoming me along for a very pleasant run.

An absolutely "top-drawer" ride for us today courtesy of our esteemed and most able leader Chris who I believe was on the front all the way out and on the return ably assisted by faithful lieutenants Me'ssrs Shelley & Mitchell.

The sun even eventually came out to warm those well-muscled legs of Dave Hughes and the not so well muscled Rikkie.

Good venue & great not so oft used lanes.

Having yo-yo'd on a number of occasions in the first outward hour I then settled in and felt very good on the return particularly after Headless Cross "hanging-on in-there" till the end!!!

Great ride today, even if a little longer than usual for Thursday.  My first visit to The Yew Tree and very impressed.  No apologies for the fast pace out - Iv'e been on the receiving end enough times before and been left for dead.  Makes a pleasant change to hear the groans coming from behind.  Don't miss next weeks episode, same place, same time.

Sorry to hear we lost Tess.  It was not intentional.  Hope she was Garmined up and got back safely.

How do you work out where the ride is heading for coffee?

Sometimes I can't get to the start but could ride straight there.

Coffee time is?

I had my son yesterday.

On a Thursday just remember HAD

First Thursday of the month = H which means Hartlebury

Second Thursday of the month = A which means Alcester

Third Thursday of the month = D which means Droitwich

Fourth is open and decided on the day, as is fifth when there is one.

On a Tuesday Ivor will post up the destination

On a Sunday the destination will also be posted up on the forum
