Easter Epic

Recommended Posts

Chris Pardoe rode the Easter Epic Sportive today, an 134km (84mile) route starting near Worcester and finding most of the hills in South Staffs. There was 5000ft of climbing on the course including some 20% gradients.

The ride was in aid of St.Richards Hospice

Chris completed the course in 6:24:00.

Well done Chris hope you managed to keep dry.

Just finish catching up with the Amstel Gold race.

They needed to do a lot more climbing to catch up with yesterdays Garmin estimate of 8000 thousand feet.

Everyone had a greater height than the 5000 suggested.

Still the weather was kind only rained a couple of miles from the finish, although very cold never getting into double figures.

A strong cold head wind for a long stretch from the Malvern across to Bromyard Downs, Ankerdine, Stanford Bank then

Clows Top added to sore legs from the climbing.

After turning with the wind after Clows Top the sting in the tail came in the lanes the back of Bewdley with two 20% climbs

within the space of five miles this made the run to the finish along the road from Bewdley to Holt Fleet seem quite flat.

All in a great day in the lanes of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire pity the sun didn't shine.

Next one from Leominster Sunday 11th May.
