Mrs DAVIES Posted March 9, 2014 Report Share Posted March 9, 2014 Tried my first ride (commuting aside) today. Beautiful sunshine. Decided to visit my mum. I could go at my own pace and train back if not up to the full four hours. Brand new wheels, new compact fitted by Nick VIPOND. Initially one gear jumping, soon all gears jumping. Ended up in a ditch at the bottom of Iiley lane with brambles in my bottom. Had to call the rescue vehicle. How often do you get, good weather and time off from the family. Mrs DAVIES Posted March 27, 2014 Report Share Posted March 27, 2014 OK! Bike fixed! Days off work! Weather OK. FILTHY STINKING COLD! In to my second week now. Managed a ride to Bewdley Monday. Said to myself, below 80% HR, free wheel Descents & train back Actually managed the full 48miles. No train! Forced myself not to push. Decided to do easy CTC ride Wednesday. Had to come home, too exhausted, so no ride today. Incidentally, Nick VIPOND fixed the bike straight away ( something about a spacer). He really is good. Probably the price we have to pay for there not being a really prolonged sub zero freeze this winter.
