Friday saw a gathering of club members and some club followers meet on the car park by the

river Avon at Eckington.

The tour director was Brian Wilson aided by his assistant Ann.

Ann took a small party of non walkers to spend some money in Pershore.

Brian was to be our guide on a tour of the fields close to the river.

He assured us the going would be easy and only about four miles to the pub.

After crossing the first couple of fields we discovered our leaders sense of direction had left him

and we had to retrace to a missed turn. He insisted it was due to the growth of weeds up the sign post.

The sun was on our shoulders and shorts and tee shirts were the order of the day.

We followered the river with the Breadon Hill rising in front of us. Fortunately we turned before the climb

started. The return took us through a waist high field of wheat with the Malvern Hills in the distance.

We were joined at the pub by Ann's party plus some others making our numbers upto twenty.

Although Brian had another senior moment forgetting to add himselfand Ann to the numbers we soon moved round and made a space for them.

We all enjoyed the tour followed by a meal and a chat

So a big thanks to Brian and Ann for a great day out we must do it again.
