RTTC 100 mile record holder in 1950 and STILL CURRENT Midlands RRA 50 mile single bicycle record holder with a time of 1-49-52 set in 1950. I started my cycling career with the MC&AC,and Les was one of my heroes (a gentle man)I was caught several times by Les Willmott in club time trials.He was also a contemporary of and rode with Tommy Simpson for England.
