Speedy Kev Posted December 23, 2015 Report Share Posted December 23, 2015 WORCESTER BEACON RIDE 20153 or 4 weeks ago Alec mentioned to me that he wanted to ride to the highest point on the Malverns, and take a photo, and get it done before Xmas, he asked if I wanted to go, "OK"Yesterday Alec said"We are going up the Malverns tomorrow, are you up for it?""errr"8.30 am the following day I'm on the road to Malvern!! Speedy, Alec and Dave C wind our way through the windy lanes, Callow end, Hanley Swan, past the Three Counties, up Hanley road, Dave branches off to tackle Old Wyche road, Alec and Speedy take the sensible way up the Wyche road, it's a plodfest for me, but the road is clear and the sunshine is glorious.We all regroup at the top of the Wyche cutting, catch our breath and then grind up the footpath to the top of the Worcester Beacon!! it's pretty windy up their, Speedy tries to block Dave for as long as possible, but Dave takes the victory.We scramble to the Topograph, and hide behind it, trying not to get blown away!!
