  7. I'm afraid it will be plan B, the severn valley railway is closed until the tenth. So we will be going round the corner to the Riverside Cafe. Sorry. 🚲

Two of us started from TB Roger and me, we picked up Steve at the end of Bouts Lane. and went on to Hellers. Steve turn off and went a shorter way but ended up at Hillers just a little earlier. Roger didn't stop, went strait home. Steve and I put the world to rights, and then we went home. 🚲

  10. Well, the weather wasn't too bad, just a bit of rain in the air for a while, and I started out from Tardebigge on my own. Then I soon bumped into Alan coming out to give me a bit of company. We carried on to Radford and picked up Dave who said that Leigh had just left him 🤷‍♂️. So, as we got near Philpot Towers Alan said good by and disappeared. Onwards we battled, into the wind, which wasn't quite as strong as Thursday, and on to Droitwitch, to the Lido cafe. A few minutes latter Mandy came in to join us, lovely to see you again Mandy. About 20 minutes later in comes Leigh. After tea, tea cakes and a lot of talking, we all went home. One more Sunday this year, so try again next week, and A Merry Christmas to you all. 🚲

    Club Run 29th October

Well, four of us started from TB Moira, Bed, Julie and me, we were soon met by Dave and off we went toward Bewdley. However, Moira bailed out and went home via Chaddesley Corbett, had to see her Mum, Julie went with her, she had a bad back. So the rest of us, all three, carried on to the SVR station at Bewdley where we met Leigh. I think Leigh could tell a story about a can of WD 40, but he can tell that tale. So tea and things were consumed and the world was put to wrights, as usual. The station was done up in scary things for Halloween, but I Was a bit disappointed because not one train came through the station. Not much happened on the way home, we all got home safe and sound, not a bad day out. 🚲

Good write up moira. I should say, when I got the puncture I remembered that the last time I used the winter bike I had a blow out then. So I thought it not worth fixing the puncture as the tyre is probably ********. I did start to walk home, but Moira had alerted international rescue ( Mark in Moira’s Audi) to collect me. kevin told me that we do have some new tyres somewhere so I will be pressing him to spend some time on my bike instead of his motorbike ( for a change!)

  15. Thanks Julie a lovely write up 👍 I had the dog to walk before watching 2 games of rugby . Well done England for reaching the semi finals but think that’s as far as we will get as South Africa will be a tough team to beat .

Yes shame we lost the football . John I can report not a drop of alcohol past my lips too early in the day for me . Sounds like you had a good ride . I think Julie is trying to show off this week or trying to make up some miles for all those she’s missed while on holiday 🤣🤣 I know the answer to the quiz I’ve sent you a postcard Julie.

Julie was moaning on our little detour as she had 2 extra miles on me so she had her 50 anyway but as Ken was picking her up from mine she had to follow as she didn’t know the way !! Julie not one of better photos with knife all my wrinkles think the money I’m spending on my Elemis face creams obviously aren’t working 🤣🤣

  23. Chris, regarding the comment on me being able to buy a round of drinks I'm afraid being a poor pensioner my weekly spend will not allow me to stretch that far. It just as well I'm not a heavy drinker and sure I can make a pint of beer last a couple of hours ' have you seen the price of a pint nowadays ' !!!. I'll gladly enjoy enjoy a second pint of someone is buying.

Thanks Julie for the comment about my daughter's award, yes your details are correct and yes we are very proud parents Thanks also Moira for your comment and you are correct. Suit, Dress, London hotel and dinner, it will stretch the pension !! But it's worth it for the occasion.

Enjoyed the ride today, planned it so we got home before the rain, bloody good job we did, we have had a terrific thunderstorm ⛈ this afternoon, very good for the garden. Nice photos Julie, but you’re not on them. 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, have a good time next week, and happy birthday for the sixth. 🚲

  27. I’ve been told off by John we went to Upton Severn not Seven . Just John and me at TB . ( Gordon hope you’re okay as we haven’t seen you since last Sunday ) Off we set going out via Hanbury nice for a change we were soon joined by the Philpott’s and Steve so we had the famous 5 . We went out via Pinvin and then Alan took us a different way . We went down roads that neither John and I had been down before , so it was a lovely change . Can’t remember the name of the common / places we went through but hopefully Alan will update you . I’d 40 miles by the time we got the cafe which was very busy luckily we managed to find the last free table. Chris and Roger then arrived . Lovely tea but no tea cakes or toast !!! so had to have cake instead. So I’ve just had a slice of toast when I’ve got in . Off we set for home now the significant seven , into a headwind past Defford . Roger had new wheels which had a very noisy free wheel . He actually managed to free will up a hill !! Show off 🤣🤣 Roger was very nicely dressed and almost fully coordinated in Rapha gear but his gloves didn’t match ( Julie would never have done that 😝) It was the longest ride for me this year just over 74 miles but I must admit the last few miles were a struggle luckily I managed to persuade Chris and Roger to carry on the last 3 miles for me without me so I could go steady as I watched them disappear into the horizon but I could still see Rogers gloves didn’t match 🤪 Sorry to hear you’re still not right Mick take care 🥰 A few photos .

    Leigh’s Progress

Just visited Leigh in hospital, he’s looking a bit better than the other day but still in loads of pain his breathing exercises are getting better and although he’s lost his taste he’s still trying to eat something. He refused a bed bath from me so I shan’t offer again. It’s going to be a long period of recovery but I know he’ll get through this especially with support from the club.
