Alp
Talking of Chippings the following roads were due to be surface dressed my 30th June. Stock Wood to Withybed Lane;Β Withybed Lane itself;Β Part of Cockshut Lane (Stock Green to Dormston);Β Some of the road that passes the Golf club on the way to Fladbury;Β From Shaftlands Cross to Crowle;Β From Crowle to the T junction which is left to Worcester and right to Tibberton. Tony S may have the latest update and Steve Tonry has confirmed Shaftlands Cross to Crowle has been done. This stretch could affect Tuesday's Defford route. If you were thinking of going via Astwood Bank the main road from the Neville Arms through Cookhill is also closed but cyclists may be able to get through. TonyS
I can only confirm what Alp and Steve say, with the addition of similar work around Wadborough, Ab Lench and Flyford Flavell. There was some delay in work getting started in Crowle due to heavy rain and low temps, but last thing I saw on Highways Agency was that all local roads were due to be completed before Spanish sun arrived and it got too hot i.e. yesterday. Current temperature here is 31C so expect some wet tar if it gets anywhere near as hot tomorrow. Also beware of loose chickens - sorry pheasant chicks - if you go past Philpott Towers. Don't think Tuesday route will be affected, anyway there's always the Commandery Farm lane as an alternative route through Crowle.

Leigh
A good day .A brisk start . Ride steadied after a bitΒ .Gordon dropped off ,Chris and I went to Blackminster where he bought me an excellent Cappuccino (spellcheck)and a small breakfast which was nigh on without any grease ! (I am obviously a calorie counter you don't get like this by chance). Battled the wind on and off and got back in time for roast beef.Good day apart from the grit ant tar. Sarashell
Eight of us started from Tardebigge, three of whom went their own way, so let me see, five left, then just coming into Chipping Campdon, two more joined us, (are you keeping up), that made seven. We seemed to spend quite a long time at the cafe, I must stop running cafes down, so enough said. But we where sitting in the sun shine, very nice. And then we rode home with the wind, more or less. In our gang today :- Moira B. Bev A. Kevin R. Mick H. John S. Alan P. Chris P. π²
rovi
Well done I wondered if the wind might pose a challenge obviously not to such a staunch bunch as yourselves.
ChrisP
As John said I caught up with four of them at the top of the hill just before Chipping Camden waiting for Moira who was doing her own thing taking it easy up the climb. We then rolled onto the cafe which was something of a let down comparedΒ with other occasions that we've been there. Although service was very slow we did manage tea and toast. The return ride was mostly wind assisted.and with the warm weather made for a good end to the day. Β LetsΒ hope the sun shines for a few weeks. ChrisKENT
Coming back Hill Furze Road after the top of Fladbury Hill and where it passes the Vale Golf & Country Club was bloody awful & virtually unrideable on the left hand side which they were doing!!!!! I cannot remember ever getting so many chippings wedged under the fork-crown & rear brake-bridge + tar all around the circumference of both tyres π©π©π©π‘π‘π‘
Moira
Mr Pardo I'm hurt !!!!! As you have said to me previously someone has to be last and I try my best to make the rest of you look good on the hills and I wasn't that far back you cheeky young man. A nice ride despite that horrible hill toast was good when it came .Β
