Lancashire Lad
Good suggestion Ivor. A few years ago about six of us on the way to Evesham stopped at the Church in Church Lench and stood in the gateway, it was quite moving. We could do the same again and then proceed to the farm shop on the Evesham road at Harvinton. Returning going past Hillers. Can we make it going up the hill in 1 hour ? Lancashire Lad
Ken, Leigh and myself met at Tardebigge at 10 in the sunshine (after previous rain) and decided that Church Lench against the wind in 1hr was a "bridge too far" for us oldies, instead we headed for St Peters Church Inkberrow where we joined hundreds of local people at the Lynch gate at 11am for a short Armistice Memorial Service and 2 minute silence, a band was present. They also read out the names of all local soldiers who died in Word Wars 1&2. A very moving occasion. We had previously informed Ivor who delayed his start owing to rain earlier that we would end up at Hillers and we met him there. The 4 of us returned together. A good day out in the sunshine, coupled with "We will remember them".
