Saracen RC Administrator
Firstly you need to upload your photos to an image hosting service, there are a number of them out there but this is a good free one Once you have created an account you can upload your photos to your own directory, then all you need to do is copy the url of the hosted image you want to post on the forum Then when you click on the reply box or start a topic on the Saracen forum you will see a selection of icons above the text window, if you move your cursor over them they will tell you what they are. The one you want is called “image” Once you click on that a small window opens up, just paste the url into there and click ok and then you have the image in the post. AlanW
Its also worth noting that you may want to resize them before hosting them. So download this little program for free HERE
Saracen RC Administrator
Good point Alan. I use "Paint" the paint package that is a part of windows, I simply open the image with "Paint" and resize it;
JohnC
I did all of the above and got some images into my post but when clicking the 'post new topic' button I got the message: You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community. Can anyone help?
Saracen RC Administrator
John make sure your image is compatible with the forum software. The forum supports images with these extensions .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, and .png If you are doing this and it is still not working make sure your images are set to public view (or words to that effect depending on the host) on the site where you have uploaded them to Most set this as a default anyway As a matter of interest what is the extension of the image you are trying to use? JohnC
not 100% sure, but I'm guessing that maybe initially I included an incorrect URL then tried to paste over it with the correct one but did not properly remove the incorrect one...................if that makes sense.
