Club Run Sun 19th

A nice gentle ride out to Wooten Wawen for the C group ably led by Leigh and Ivor saw us completely avoid all the busy roads around Redditch by making our way through the parks and around the Arrow Valley Lake.

A great route, great company and great weather.

It just doesn't get better than that. :)

Today's C group consisted of

Ivor Myttion

Sean Brker

Richard Kent

Chris Kent

Leigh Figleaves

Perhaps someone can post up a report/roll call for the A and B groups :)

Some years ago there was a book

written by a chap called Schumaker

it was called ""Small is beautiful "

I didn't realise it applied to club runs as well.

A small group plus a smallish distance equals one great ride.

Thanks for the ride.

What an eventful day, eight of us started out from the Tardebigge, and we picked up another two on the way. Just after Pinvin going over the ford, (I think I will tell you this before someone else does) I fell into the hedge, it made everyone laugh as you can emagin. Enough of that.

At the Marina we were joined by two more, so there were.

John Shelley

Dave Sexton

Tim Bruton

Moira Blackburn

Gary Woodward

Hannah Smith

Chris Poole

Pete Cooper

Mick McClure (yes he is back)

Alan Philpot

Dave Mitchell

Tony Shardlow

And then on the way back there was a clatter and Mick McClure was lying in the road, he had pain in his leg and a few cuts and bruises. An ambulance came and took him off to hospital.

That is all I know so far.

I'm sorry to have to report that Mick's fall was a bad one.

He has cracked his pelvis and will be in hospital for a few days and is likely to be off his feet for up to two months.

He has asked me to let you all know he's OK and will know more tomorrow when he sees a specialist.

Oh no :-( I was worried listening to the conversation between Mick and the paramedic that it might be more than muscle tissue injuries. :-(

Just sent Mick a text but I'm not sure if I have the right number as he mentioned his phone was broken during his fall in France. The paramedic said they were going to take Mick to Worcester Royal -  is that where he is?

Wishing Mick a very speedy recovery.

I hope Pete's recovering from the chain ring wound.

Has anyone got any news on Mick? I did message him on FB yesterday but obviously don't want to pester him while he's in hospital. Just wondered if anyone had spoken with him yesterday or today?

Will need to reopen hospital watch.

Went to see Micks wife Jayne yesterday who had just returned from a visit to see him in hospital.

He does have a fracture in the hip joint and so far will have to remain still in bed for possibly 5 weeks.

The damage to his shoulder is still being assessed so the use of crutches is out of the question.

I will update when I know more.
