  1. As Bev, Moira and I had been out on Saturday and completed a few miles, we decided to do a short ride and meet the others at the Swan. Bit of a delayed start as getting her bike out Moira noticed she had a puncture so had to opt for her in between bike.

So starting out from TB were roger and John. Picking up Steve and Leigh en route. Roger did a non stopper while Steve dropped off for home at some point.

Bev, Moira and I arrived at the Swan first and managed to grab the last little hut to wait to see who else turned up. We hadn't been there long when John and Leigh arrived. Leigh ordered a bacon sandwich which looked much better than the one I had last week. It was stuffed with bacon and looked delicious. See pic below.

After our refreshments, we left Leigh tucking into a second cuppa. We were waiting for Bev to pay a visit before setting off. After a few minutes we realised she must have set off thinking we had left. I thought her bike had gone but as we got up the hill there were no tyre tracks so we decided to go back to make sure. Sure enough Bev's bike had gone and so had Bev!! So off we set again, at which point we had a call from Bev asking where we were. Needless to say confusion reigned for all of five minutes and fortunately we were able to all re-group and set off for home.ย

No rain, a nice short ride for some of us and a new venue found.

  2. Great write up Moira. I have to say I only noticed those lads cos your eyes were popping out ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. And yes the tail wind was very intermittent but it was a good day for cycling. There were lots out and about. Here's the pics. I've included the sarnie. Only complaint.. not enough bacon for the size of the bread!!!ย

  3. Well a great turnout today. Albeit many of us started out at different points and in different modes of transport.

So starting from TB were John, Moira, Roger me and Bev who was back from her travels in France.

We set off promptly at 10 picking up Tony, Steve and Dave at Priest Bridge. Dave thought he had slow puncture so decided to go straight to Broadacres.ย

En route we picked up Chris Pool. Most of us had had a break from cycling due to holidays and/or illness. So we kept a steady pace.

Roger decided he wasn't stopping so carried on after we arrived at the cafe.

On arrival it was lovely to see Ivor, Pete, Dave, Barry, Chris Kent and the philpotts. Some had cycled others had come in cars.ย

It was really nice to see so many out and we all had a good catch up and natter. As always the BLT was delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹

As we were leaving Leigh arrived having gone to Pershore. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Sorry about that Leigh.

All in all a good ride, I suspect the first one of the year for a lot of us. So it was great to be out again on what was a sunny but chilly day. Long may the mild weather continue.

No pics unfortunately, I completely forgot!ย

  4. Great write up Moira. It certainly was eventful but not for the potential floods as we expected. Roads were ok, bit muddy in places but on our winter bikes it wasn't a problem. I'm glad I went out, I nearly didn't.....

  5. A bright but chilly start for Moira, John, tim and me setting off from TB at 10 a.m. it was a good call to start later as it was a bit cooler than we've been used to.

We met Barry at the top of the Ridgeway and carried on to the railway carriage. Leigh was already there and very proud that he'd managed to find his way there by himself.

There was a bit of a wait for food as it was busy. But it was very nice and warm sitting in the sun.

Barry lost his gloves which was a bit odd as he hadn't actually been anywhere. We searched high and low only to find that Leigh had them. Not sure how that happened but Moira chastised him by hitting him with a wooden spoon (not really it was only for the photo opportunity).

We set off back leaving Leigh as he was going a different way and a bit worried that his battery wouldn't last. Hope he got back ok. ๐Ÿคž.

I'm doing the write up this week as Moira had a headache and played on my sympathy. You owe me one Moira ๐Ÿ˜œ

Nothing much to report on the way home. It turned out to be a very pleasant ride in the end. I'm glad I went out ๐Ÿ˜Š
