Dave Cox
Hi folks please would you keep a look out for my neighbour's stolen bike. It was parked at Bournville Station yesterday evening. It's my old best bike from the 1970's in metallic blue 10 speed with Simplex retroshift levers, Shimano 600 brakes, mudguards, ancient Brooks saddle and carrier. The frame was a Don Farrell relatively short wheelbase with a distinctive wrap over seat stay but it was re-sprayed by a shop in Selly Oak whose name I've forgotten. It's just been serviced by Urban Cycles and has their sticker and a Beacon sticker. It looks old but he loves it and is off on a cycling holiday in Holland in two days so it would be great to get it back!
Dave Cox
The shop in Selly Oak was Steve Thornhill's and one of his stickers is on the head tube!
Dave Cox
The Don Farrell aka Steve Thornton has been recovered by the police and an arrest made. Still wouldn't advise leaving a bike at Bournville bike theft is common there.
