Shelsley Ends The Season

Recommended Posts

That's it for Paul and myself this season and what a great day to see it out. First and foremost, many thanks to all those who came out to watch the event, you really made our day.  Together with many friends from other clubs we met, from our own stable Dave and Judith, Dave and Ruth, Mandy, Debbie, Chris Pardoe, Graham Knowles, John Shelly, Chris and John Poole. Along with a beautiful sunny day there was a great atmosphere at Shelsley. Tremendous support from all the local clubs generating much shaking of hands and tale telling in the superb cafe.

This was one event where the taking part was much more important than winning (not that it was in the frame to start with) and it was a privilege to be taking part in such a historic day wearing Saracen colours.

As for the climb - Hard. Actually really not looking forward to it one bit when warming up. When it was all over, so pleased to be fit and able to do anything like this and can't wait till next year. Crazy!

The organisation of the event was absolutely flawless ( ever had your time recorded down to a hundredth of a second?) and I am sure there will be many more in the future.

Joined the 'A's a brisk run back to Holt Fleet ending a great day.

Thanks again to all those joining us today.

Well done both. Times to 1/100th of a second. Faster than the blink of an eye! But what WERE the times/positions, I think we should know.

BTW, Ken & I were reminiscing about those early start hill climbs when your nose burned with the frosty nip in the air, you were caught before you fell off at the top, and your lungs took a week to recover. And you can't wait until next year!

Well done to you both. That course looks brutal!

You both (along with the rest of the Saracen racing squad) have every right to feel proud of a great season.

By the way Dave put those photos into your folder in the gallery and they will then appear on the strip across the main page of the forum. Cracking photos!

It has indeed been a great season for the club and we hope to repeat it next year. It would be tremendous if we could have some more members taking part in events with us.

Many thanks for all the support and encouragement we have all had.
