Sean Barker
Do you count the miles? Does it depend on the tyres? Do you go by the thread? Or as soon as you start getting too many punctures replace the tyres. There must be a more scientific way of determining when its time to change them, is there some rule of thumb I don’t know about? Am I missing something? Oh! And I got my first puncture in ages on yesterday’s Audax.
AlanW
Its very rare that I ever get to "wear" mine out to be honest, as more often than not its usually a severe cut that ends the life of them. But if not then I'll change the rear when it "squares" off to the point that the centre of the tyre must be getting very thin. I then put the tyre that was on the front onto the rear and fit a new one to the front. A good reliable front tyre is more important that the rear IMHO

DaveM
Show them to Ken and if he says they are good for plenty more miles - throw them away!
