DaveM
Should I be worried about the fact that Windows XP will longer be supported by Microsoft after April 2014? Will i be forced to upgrade or by a new computer?

Saracen RC Administrator
It’s going to mean a number of things. Firstly there will be no more security updates, leaving you vulnerable to viruses and malware attacks. Also new programs will not fully support XP as well as new hardware will not come with XP drivers, meaning compatibility problems. So you will need a new operating system but that is not as clear cut as it sounds, it could be that your current computer might not be up to running the later operating systems, you will need to check the specs of your computer and see that they are up to it but even then you could encounter driver issues with your current computer. Of course if upgrading to a newer Microsoft operating system isn’t possible you could install a Linux OS. I use Ubuntu on one of my computers and it’s an impressive environment and being open source it’s free and will work better on older computers than its greedy counterpart (Windows) Failing all that it’s a new computer. DaveM
Thanks Sean. Looks like we don't have much choice then. Victims of clever marketing again! So we can expect a rise in computer prices next year.
