Mike McClure
Hi Everyone - The specialist has just been in to see me and given an update.Fracture is good but still needs to be rested. Will again be x-rayed next Monday and then he will come and discuss options.1. Pinning.2. Leave and when to get me out of bed.3. Arthritis problems Yes or No.4. Further time to heal.Obviously it's looking like a long term healing process and could have some complications. Got my fingers crossed as can't cross legs ....yet!Mike Y

Mike McClure
Hi Everyone - well good news this week - both of my daughters have new jobs...as for me.... Saw the Specalist today having had two new X-rays. The fracture hasn't yet healed but it has not moved. A good sign so for now will not need to be pinned. It will heal quickly once my body decides it's time!In the mean time I will have a further X-ray next Monday. After this, all being well, I will be handed over to the physio's who will get me out of bed onto crutches or Zimmer frame ( don't laugh )! Once I can cope with them or it I will beable to go home. After this it could take another 5/6 weeks before I can walk unaided. The good news is I can ride the turbo in some 2/3 weeks in order to improve my muscles.Goody news all round in the end.Mike
Hannah
Hi Mick,Congratulations to your two daughters on their new jobs!I'm so sorry to hear that your healing process is not happening as quickly as we had all hoped, but it does sound as though it's all heading in the right direction I hope the X-ray next week goes well and hope to see you up and about soon - I've no doubt that you'll be happy to be up and about even if it is on crutches or a zimmer! Keeping my fingers crossed for you always Mick. Much love and many hugs to you xxx

Mike McClure
? hi Everyone - Thanks for kind words of support, Alan for collecting bike, Chris for collection and sorting it out, John for his offer of turbo trainer, also for the great support of you all.The good news for me is that I am now out of bed and sitting in a chair. All looks good for getting out of hospital mid week. Will be on crutches for a few weeks but at least I'm mobile. The turbo so the specialist says will aid recovery but it will only be light training. No heavy gearing.Have a great ride.Mike
