Cyclists Fighting Cancer Stratford 29th May2016

Recommended Posts

Now the climbing legs have recovered a few words about Sundays event.

Weather bright and sunny most of the day although still a chill in the air when riding into wind.

Didn't rush to get there early, and set of on the days ride 9:20ish all other 100 milers already well on their way.

Thought I might see other Saracen tops but Kev R obviously couldn't sleep and started at 7:00 on the epic 150 mile route.

But having broken a spoke being so strong decided to complete only 100 mile event.

Mick H & Sam B being early risers started with a group at 8:00 o'clock.

Looks like a few others should be on the roads.

I think most have gone without me.

A nice flat start for about 20 mile through Welford, Bidford and Bretforton before the climbing started with Saintbury.

First feed stop near Stanway.

This is what I should be doing on a sunny Sunday, watching a game of cricket.

Hadn't noticed but it's two ladies teams.

Back to two wheels.

Riding on to Winchcombe where the serious climbing starts.

Heading out in direction of Cheltenham take a left to climb the 20% hill of Belas Knap.

This will make a good summer Sunday run must keep it in mind.

A few pic's couldn't ride one handed for the steep bit.

The view back to Winchcombe in the valley was worth it.

Only 40 miles to go still rather up and down with the horrible  one mile climb after you leave Whichford.

A quick shower.

A few min's sit in the sun with a free hot dog and coffee before a relaxing drive home.

The End.
