Many thanks for your accurate & comprehensive summary β€œold-un”! It was indeed most enjoyable despite the cold! GLORIOUS SUNSHINE, DRY, BLUE SKY, SOME GORGEOUS VIEWS WITH THE EXCELLENT VISIBILITY, RELATIVELY LITTLE VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND NO INCIDENTS WITH MOTORISTS! WHAT MORE COULD ONE ☝️ WISH FOR.πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸš²

Well five of us started off together (two of them, seniors. They were actually younger than us). We went to the Ellenden Farm Shop, and the other two went off somewhere else. It was a cold day, but not too bad, the wind was a bit on the strong πŸ’ͺ side, nice bit of sunshine though. Nice ride, and us three where :- Chris T. Tim B. John S. πŸ˜ƒ

Had great reservations about going out in weather this cold .However, met the other group John Shelley,Tim and Chris (known as Michelle's husband) and Chris Kent and started to enjoy the day . Chris and I went to Auntie Rita's riding with the others for part of the way . Found the cafe quite full of cyclists including Andy from the Beacon . Went back along Chris's route.Enjoyed the day. 20. Study participants wanted

That's very unfortunate! Most of the performance studies use this age range. If you still want to have your VO2max measured or participate in any other exciting study, check out our recruitment website with all the current ongoing projects listed. There is also a sign-up form where you can submit your details and you'll be contacted if a new study is in play that is looking for someone like you are. https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/facilities/human-performance-lab/index.aspx
  21. Study participants wanted

That age range rules 95 % of club members out !!!!! Oh to be young again .πŸ˜‹
  22. Study participants wanted

Hi all,I hope it is fine if I write this message to your message board. At the University of Birmingham we are looking for cyclists aged 18-35 to take part in our sports nutrition research studies. They usually involve a free VO2max testing and some additional visits to the lab and some money. We are currently recruiting for a study in which we are investigating a novel way of carbohydrate periodisation. It involves 8 training sessions and a VO2max test. We would pay you Β£160 for completion of the study. Here are details of the study: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ydv3072lcr7wc ... t.pdf?dl=0. Please get in touch with me in case you are interested or have any questions: txp589@bham.ac.uk.

Well thanks for that (only other riding senior) Mr Fridgemagnet, it was certainly the way forward in the absence of any of our old erstwhile riding mates I believe it’s good to spread your company around the β€˜B’ members rather than having you all to myself!!!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ Thanks to them for their company, steady & reasonable pace🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

  30. Seniors run 18th Feb

Thanks to Chris Kent for urging me (telling actually) to go with the other run and thanks to them for their generosity in speed control . Made it to Bewdley where we had a lively exchange or two over the breakfast table. After, Chris and I decided to let the youthful exuberance of the fast group free rein and we returned home at a gentlemanly pace. Thanks to all enjoyed the day.
